Amanda Vaughn
Amanda Vaughn is an experienced trial lawyer who has tried over 20 matters to verdict in federal courts across the country and in the local court of the District of Columbia. Amanda previously worked for over eight years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section and Fraud Section and in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia’s Public Corruption and Civil Rights Section. As a federal prosecutor, she investigated and prosecuted public officials for corruption and fraud offenses, including a sitting United States Senator and a former presidential campaign advisor. She also prosecuted criminal cases against corporations and corporate executives for securities fraud and other corporate fraud offenses, and she investigated and prosecuted civil rights violations. Amanda has briefed several appeals in federal appellate courts on issues of constitutional and federal criminal law and procedure. For her work as a prosecutor, Amanda has been awarded the Assistant Attorney General’s Exceptional Service Award, the Assistant Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award, and the U.S. Attorney’s Special Achievement Award.
Amanda also previously worked for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee where she led the compliance investigations team and was the Ethics Director.
Amanda graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and received her bachelor’s degree with highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After law school, Amanda served as a law clerk to the Honorable Catherine C. Blake of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Amanda is licensed to practice law in Maryland. She is not licensed in Washington, D.C.
