Annie Cleaver
Annie Cleaver brings a depth of political research, public policy, and communications experience to Fairmark through a decade of work in campaigns, government, and advocacy.
Prior to Fairmark, Annie advised research and communications strategies for several statewide and national political campaigns including the presidential and senatorial campaigns of Senator Elizabeth Warren. During her time with Senator Warren, Annie analyzed a wide range of presidential policy initiatives, exposed corporate wrongdoing, and advised debate strategy alongside some of the nation’s leading economic policy and antitrust experts.
In her role as Deputy Research Director for the Democratic Governors Association, she led research efforts to elect Democratic leaders in several pivotal races across the country and advised millions of dollars in paid media.
A North Carolina native, Annie has worked on successful statewide campaigns in her home state as well as in a policy and communications role at the North Carolina Department of Justice. During her time in state government, Annie worked on several policy initiatives to combat the state’s opioid epidemic–including through legislation, stakeholder coalition-building, and collegiate and youth outreach–as well as on issues related criminal justice reform, immigration, and health care.
Annie received her BA in Political Science and Economics from Davidson College and cares deeply about issues affecting rural communities and workers.
