Rucha


Rucha began her legal career at Proskauer Rose LLP, where she became a skilled antitrust litigator.  Rucha spent five years representing corporations in large-scale, complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation and criminal investigations, and had a particular focus on the food and agriculture industry. In addition to antitrust defense, Rucha worked on cases grounded in myriad issues, including bankruptcy, advertising, and products liability.  Rucha also maintained a portfolio of pro bono trafficking and immigration cases.

Prior to law school, Rucha served as Deputy Director of Constituent Affairs for U.S. Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand. In this role, Rucha was the lead on issues related to 9/11, housing, healthcare, and Social Security, coordinated recovery for multiple federal disasters, and championed issues affecting the South Asian and 9/11 first responder communities.

Rucha graduated from NYU School of Law, where she was Co-Chair of the South Asian Law Students Association, a staff editor of the Moot Court Board, and a Ford Fellow. During law school, Rucha worked at the Brennan Center for Justice, where she focused on criminal justice reform.
